Calibration Specialist

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Perform gage calibration on basic and advanced inspection equipment to assure that all gages are re-certified within established calibration intervals.
- Perform gage calibration per established Calibration Procedures, in a highly precise manner using high precision/accuracy measuring instruments. Perform duties to support manufacturing and quality. Provide technical support for the Quality Inspection, Assembly and Fabrication Departments.
- Make all necessary adjustments, including minor repairs, required to bring into conformance each gage to be certified.
- Document calibration results, keeping careful and complete records of each gage certification in accordance with company procedures.
- Precisely follow all Standard Calibration Procedures/Quality Control Calibration Procedures (when available).
- Provide technical support and guidance to Fabrication, Assembly, and Inspection personnel. Report any unusual gauging issues.
- Assist in analysis of shop floor data. Prepare spreadsheet reports on findings.
- Perform technical investigations and fixing tasks assigned by the Department Manager.
- Assist the Quality Department in establishing inspection methods, procedures and Operation Sheets to maintain and improve product appraisal efficiency.
- Plan, perform and accomplish Machine/ Process Capability studies and Gauge R&R studies.
- Establish and design special gauging, fixtures and adapters to support and improve the measuring system.
- Assist in maintaining the Gage Talker data collection system SPC network files and make program changes when required. Recommend or provide proper gages and gauging set-ups for OPC operators and inspection personnel.
- Assist the Quality Engineers in the development of Process Control Plans (when required), the OPC/SPC Parts Certification program and any prevention based programs.
- Responsible for completing work assignments in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
- Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately;
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- High Scholl Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of related metrology experience.
- Knowledge of ASTM, ANSI, ASME, SAE.
- Proficient in the use of all measurement equipment & gages (e.g., CMM, 3 Axis Optical Comparator).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to research and comprehend various standards and engineering specifications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all personnel in the facility.
- Act with the utmost integrity, professionalism and positive attitude.
- Must be a great teammate. Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a calibration specialist.
- Advanced blueprint reading.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Controls methodologies and techniques – Control Charts. Ability to perform or assist in Machine/Process Capability studies and Gage R & R studies.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
- PPE's will be required including safety glasses, ear plugs and/or safety shoes. May be required to work at different work stations as determined by business needs
