Environmental Monitoring Generalist

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Junior Environmental Monitoring Generalist Professional to work in our Environmental Regulatory Compliance Professional. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC & WCB facility with every other Friday off.
You will support the environmental monitoring team with various tasks responsible for coordinating the release schedules for environmental documents available to the public, such as the Technical Basis for Environmental Monitoring and The Environmental Monitoring Plan. You will respond to ad hoc sample requests for drinking water and asbestos to assist facility management. Your tasks will include revising environmental monitoring procedures and processing sampling requests to ensure compliance with INL's environmental regulations, encompassing a broad spectrum of environmental and wildlife samples. Additionally, you will be engaged in scientific and, maintaining sampling equipment and preparation areas, and ensuring accurate documentation. You will report to the manager of our Environmental Monitoring & Natural Resources department.
Responsibilities Include:

Serve as the primary coordinator for the timelines for the dissemination of environmental documents intended for public access, including but not limited to the Technical Basis for Environmental Monitoring and The Environmental Monitoring Plan.

Provide assistance for unexpected, non-standard sample requests pertaining to drinking water and asbestos in order to support facility operations.

Aid Environmental Monitoring leads by helping to revise protocols and handling requests related to sampling to comply with INL's comprehensive environmental regulatory obligations. This includes contributing to the achievement of milestones related to the surveillance and monitoring of data/records for a wide range of environmental aspects such as air, soil, biota, effluent, drinking water, groundwater, stormwater, ambient radiation, precipitation, and surface water, as well as agricultural and wildlife samples including potatoes, alfalfa, grains, lettuce, milk, waterfowl, bats, and big game.

Evaluate and apply scientific/technical techniques to solve projects of increasing scope and complexity.
Minimum Requirements:

Level 1: Bachelor of Science degree in a science related field and 0 years experience.

Must have a current, valid State of Idaho driver's license.

The pay range for this position is $63,528min - $130,284max. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
