The Fraud Analyst performs a variety of assignments that are routine to moderately complex and require knowledge and understanding of financial processes. These include, but are not limited to, research and analysis of check claims and recovery efforts. This role is cross trained to support multiple business functions.

Job Description

• Act quickly to discern between fraudulent and valid activity, while thoughtfully evaluating potential customer impact and acting appropriately to preserve customer experience and prevent potentially catastrophic losses
• Analyze and administer claim decisions making customer account adjustments. Process claims/indemnifications quickly and accurately, following up with both internal and external parties, while delivering consistent high-quality customer service
• Reconcile department general ledger(s), review for errors, and escalate coaching opportunities when appropriate
• Support Huntington’s commitment to continuous improvement by identifying and proposing process improvement ideas to increase the team’s efficiency, quality, and service levels
• Execute written and verbal communication to convey complex findings and recommendations to stakeholders
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the complete fraud lifecycle for victim and suspect activity
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Two years retail banking, operations, or other financial work experience and High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, or related field
• Proven experience as a fraud analyst or similar role with a solid understanding of fraud detection, investigation, and prevention methodologies
• Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations (Uniform Commercial Code, Reg CC, etc.)
• Proficient in the use of various desktop and internet-based applications, including Microsoft Office products
• Strong ethical standards and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Proven track record of time management and organizational skills under minimal supervision, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to work in a face paced, high volume production environment, with production and quality demands
