Summary of Job Duties:

This is a Laboratory Assistant position in the laboratory of Dr. Amy Poe. The goal of this project is to understand how rhythmic behaviors develop in Drosophila melanogaster. Major duties will include performing behavioral experiments as part of a genetic screen, confocal microscopy of dissected tissues, and maintaining lab stocks. Minor duties will include assisting with lab management duties such as shipping and receiving of packages, tracking stock supplies, and other duties that assist with the efficient conduct of research in the lab.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with Drosophila melanogaster and/or experience working in a life science lab

Additional Information:

This is a 1-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.

Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience.
