Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
The Laboratory Technician I position is responsible for specimen preparation and extractions for the analysis of drugs of abuse in a variety of biological matrices. The role reports to the 3rd Shift Extractions Supervisor.
Qualifications

• BS/BA degree majoring in one of the chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology sciences ( 16 semester hours of chemistry, which included at least 6 semester hours in inorganic/general chemistry; and 16 semester hours of biology courses). 3 semester hours of mathematics; and in-house laboratory training.
• Experience with documenting chain of custody and using Chem Ware Horizon is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• All employees are expected to perform high quality work within deadlines, interact professionally with others, and work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Special Position Requirements
Lab positions generally involve handling of biohazardous materials. At times, overtime may be required.
Two scheduled shifts are available:
Sunday - Thursday, 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
