Hire Art is helping a global leader in AI development hire language specialists to review and audit complex and varied data in eight non-Hindi Indian languages. Candidates should have native- or near native-level fluency in at least one of those languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu, or Bengali), with preference given to those fluent in two or more.

Ideal candidates will also have a background in translation, linguistics, or professional writing. Translators, interpreters, educators, academic linguists, and professional writers are highly encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time (30-40 hours per week), contract role, with 8 hour days preferred but with some schedule flexibility. Candidates must be based in the U.S. but can work remotely from any U.S. time zone.

As an AI Language Auditor - Indian Languages, you will:

• Audit work produced for various language projects used to train generative AI models.
• Audit original and challenging prompts for an AI model to respond to.
• Audit edited responses that were produced by an AI model and edited by a person.
• Assess whether a piece of text produced by an AI model is factually accurate.
• Attend 2-4 recurring weekly meetings.
• Bachelor's degree
• Native fluency in at least one of the following Indian languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu, or Bengali
• At least one of the following: post-graduate degree conducted in one of the above languages, or translation/writing/editing experience in one of the above languages
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in spotting writing errors and inconsistencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fluency in two or more of the aforementioned languages
• Editing experience
• Interest in AI and machine learning concepts
• Native fluency in English or another language

Commitment: This is a full-time (30-40 hours per week), on-going contract position staffed via Hire Art. It is remote and available to U.S.-based candidates, with preference given to candidates who can work M-F, 8 hours per day with some flexibility.
