SYNOPSIS
Manages the Leadership Development Division, including the design, instruction and coordination of management concepts and training programs, Assists other managers with internal and external systems management. Work is performed with considerable independence and decision-making authority.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership Development:
  • Instructs management training seminars in area of expertise
  • Negotiates commitments to ensure agreement with AIDT policy
  • Analyzes client needs and customizes training to meet those needs
  • Provides consultation to assist clients
  • Markets AIDT’s ability to deliver training
  • Communicates professionally with company representatives, government officials, the general public, and staff
  • Travels in and out of state as required to perform job duties
  • Manages divisional staff
Program Development:
  • Researches and develops new training programs and continuously improves existing programs
  • Develops and writes technical reports, findings, recommendations and instruction manuals
  • Maintains research materials, vendor catalogs
  • Recommends purchases of research and seminar materials
Planning/Administration:
  • Plans and documents daily/weekly work schedule
  • Manages AIDT resources within assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Contributes to and extracts from the information flow of the Institute using automated tools
  • Documents and records project activity through memos, LOCs, contact reports, project files, etc.
Special Projects:
  • Accepts and manages the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work Habits:
  • Complies with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT Policy Manual
  • Plans daily/weekly work schedule
  • Maintains housekeeping to organizational standards
  • Interacts professionally with co-workers, general public and others as required
  • Complies with AIDT policy regarding attendance. (Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of trends pertaining to management concepts and techniques
  • Ability to comprehend management concepts and resources
  • Ability to research and develop training materials and programs
  • Skill in presenting and modeling modern management concepts to all levels of management
  • Skill in subjective and objective evaluations of programs and people
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Skill in effectively presenting information to groups in a classroom or lab environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on program needs
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and to handle multiple training projects concurrently
  • Ability to follow established laws, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to function in an automated work environment
  • Ability to work in a constant state of awareness
  • Ability to interact professionally with company representatives, public officials, trainees, coworkers and the general public
  • Ability to function in a team-based environment
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum five years supervision/coordination experience in industry, industrial training, industrial education, technical or administrative fields. Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution required in appropriate area of specialization.
Salary and General:
Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C2 salary schedule, within a range of $75,768 – $113,334. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.
Criminal Background Check:
The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $26.17 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $26.17 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
