Job Description
Procurement Analysts under supervision, with some latitude for independent initiative and decision making, assist in purchasing goods, services, and/or in processing procurement documents and contracts; confer with, advise and assist operational, technical and professional staff in the procurement process and manage contracts for services as assigned. All Procurement Analysts perform related work. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of OR Materials Management, employee is responsible for all procurement and tracking of surgical supplies via the Supply Chain Peoplesoft system, to maintain adequate stock for surgical patients and work alongside the Perioperative Support Services staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews purchasing requisitions and procurement and contract documents, checking descriptions and specifications to determine their accuracy and adequacy and consults with appropriate staff to adjust possible discrepancies.
- Works with OR Service aides and monitors the inventory levels in all the OR supply rooms.
- Procurement and order tracking.
- Ensures the accuracy of all supplies ordered, upon receipt.
- Notify the appropriate clinical staff, when supplies are not available, or, are on back order.
- Responsible for contacting the vendors to see their help in obtaining specialty items, when orders are not received, by the estimated delivery time.
- Ensures timely procurement of OR surgical supplies, via the Peoplesoft system, on a daily basis.
- Reviews all changes, modification and adjustment to Peoplesoft with the Assistant Director for approval.
- Identifies activities that the health system has implemented, to promote patient safety and take the necessary precaution, to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- Completes bill only and for payment only (FPO) requests and follow up with vendors.
- Performs other clerical and administrative tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory full-time professional
experience in procurement of goods, services, construction or construction-related services, or professional,
technical or administrative experience in contract negotiation/management; or
2. An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college, and 18 months of
satisfactory, full-time professional experience as described in 1 above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two and one-half years of satisfactory fulltime
professional experience as described in 1 above; or
4. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to 1, 2, or 3 above. College education may
be substituted for professional experience under 2 or 3 above at the rate of 30 semester credits from an
accredited college for 6 months of experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high
school diploma or its educational equivalent and 6 months of the experience described in 1 above.

to submitting your application. If you are marked Not Qualified, your application fee will not be refunded and you
will not receive a score.
Medical Requirement: In accordance with applicable Federal, state and local laws and regulations, the NYC Health
and Hospitals Corporation has established medical standards for this position. Accordingly, all eligibles will be
required to undergo and pass a medical examination prior to the date of appointment to ensure that those medical
standards have been met. Additionally, eligibles will be subject to a drug screening test prior to the date of
appointment.
Residency Requirement (HHC): In accordance with NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation Corporate Operating
Procedure 20-48, persons appointed to HHC after January l, 1987 must be City residents on their effective date of
appointment, or must establish City residency within 90 days following their effective date of appointment, and must
thereafter maintain City residency as a continuing condition of employment.
English Requirement: You must be able to understand and be understood in English.
Proof of Identity: Under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, you must be able to prove your identity
and your right to obtain employment in the United States prior to employment with the New York City Health and
Hospitals Corporation.
