Pay Schedule-range: $37,000, minimum annually, based on qualifications and experience

This position will perform work independently, only referring matters to the supervisor for clarification.

JOB DETAILS:

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Facility Services Inventory Control Supervisor, this position is responsible for ordering products for the grounds, maintenance and custodial staff on campus. Keeps up to date on current contracts, proper procurement procedures, and associated documentation.



Researches, creates, and solicits simplified bids from third party suppliers in order to provide cost-effective materials and services within the work unit. Serves as a backup to the Inventory Control Supervisor when necessary, particularly in maintaining and ordering appropriate levels of stock.



Shift: 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications

  • Meet the minimum requirements to drive on state/university business
  • Effective written and verbal skills
  • Customer service focused
  • Advanced knowledge and adaptation of computer programs:
    • Adobe Acorbat
    • Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
    • Internet Explorer/Chrome
    • Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook needed, and others a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor¿s degree
  • Understanding of governmental procurement regulations and laws.
  • Experience within WI higher education or WI state government (purchasing, finance and/or facility services).
  • Knowledge of negotiation skills and industry best practices used in the procurement of goods and services
  • Ability to obtain a certification of fork lift operation

This is an Academic Staff annual appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
