Summary
The Quality Assurance Assistant works to support our food safety and quality program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Review and maintain records and documents as required by our food safety and quality program.
· Review SSOP cleaning program to ensure compliance to our food safety program.
· Conduct tasks to update and maintain the following programs:
a. Non-conforming
b. Product Release
c. Packaging Inspection and Releasing
· Conduct random quality assurance checks during production.
· Analyze and communicate quality control information to all relevant departments.
· Create and update product and packaging related information in various databases.
· Perform tasks related to product development such as prepare sample mixes, packaging sizing, and case sizing.
· Conduct inspections as required by our Pest Control Program.
· Prepare and send samples to 3rd party lab as needed.
· Help to coordinate pre-assigned rework.
· Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality and food safety as needed.
· Conduct QA checks of outbound shipments as assigned by the QA Manager.
· Complete other work related tasks assigned by the QA Manager

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Computer Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel (extensive use of spreadsheets), Word, Outlook, Power Point and excellent internet skills.
Math Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Physical Demands – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Frequent need to talk or hear. Occasional need to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. This job involves using hands and arms in handling, installing, position and moving materials, and manipulating things. This job does requires moving around in a plant and office.
· The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment and moving mechanical parts in the plant area. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The temperature may be hot or cold dependent on the weather, may be exposed to outside weather conditions on occasion. The noise level in the production work environment is usually loud.

· Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
