This is a remote/home-based, full-time, Washington Management Service position.

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as a Regional Liaison in the Office of Strategic Partnerships (OSP). This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of advancing public health initiatives across Washington State.

What You Will Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnership Development: Work closely with OSP leadership to identify, develop, and coordinate activities that support the governmental public health system across your region.
- Community Engagement: Regularly meet with local health jurisdictions and other partners to strengthen relationships and gather critical feedback on local issues.
- Strategic Influence: Provide valuable insights and recommendations to agency leadership, ensuring that regional perspectives shape public health policy and agency decisions.
- Collaboration: Partner with your region’s Regional Medical Officer and other Regional Liaisons to drive innovative engagement initiatives that align with the OSP mission.
- Communication Facilitation: Serve as a key connector between regional public health partners and DOH services, ensuring that resources and support are effectively shared.
- Leadership in Action: Participate in and lead projects that enhance the public health system, support emergency response activities, and contribute to the strategic planning of the OSP.

Our DESIRED Candidate Profile:

Option 1: Eight (8) or more years of a combination of relevant professional and lived experiences in public health, communications, public/business administration, public policy, or related field. This experience may have been gained in community-based settings, advocacy, leadership roles, or other areas where skills in public health, communication, or policy have been developed and demonstrated.

Option 2: A bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, communications, public/business administration, public policy, or another relevant field; AND four (4) or more years of experience in public health or related field.
And, the following skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated training development, presentation and/or facilitation skills

Conditions of Employment:
I am prepared, with or without accommodations, to do the following:
- Commit to a full-time 40-hour workweek schedule.
- Adjust my work schedule to align with business needs, which may entail working evenings and weekends.
- Travel extensively throughout Region 3 (Counties Include: Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, Thurston, Wahkiakum, and Yakima), sometimes requiring overnight stays or trips out of state.
- You must legally be able to operate a privately- or state-owned vehicle.
- Communicate through applications such as MS Teams and MS Outlook, and by phone while working remotely.
- Engage in emergency response exercises and high-priority assignments as assigned during emergency events.
