As a Sous Chef at Seed to Table, you will be at the core of our culinary operations. You’ll lead by example, crafting dishes that not only delight the palate but also tell a story. Your role will be crucial in mentoring our kitchen team, driving innovation, and ensuring that every plate exceeds expectations. This is a full-time, exempt position, perfect for a culinary artist ready to make their mark.Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Leadership: Lead the kitchen with creativity, precision, and passion, ensuring every dish is a masterpiece.
- Mentorship & Development: Inspire and guide our kitchen team, nurturing the next generation of culinary stars.
- Menu Innovation: Collaborate with our Executive Chef Michael Ellis, also known as Rocket-Man, to develop menus that are as exciting as they are delicious.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and a seamless guest experience.
- Ingredient Sourcing: Work with the best organic and local suppliers to ensure our dishes are made with the finest ingredients.

Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: Experience as a Sous Chef or Lead Line Cook in a high-energy, fast-paced kitchen.
- Passion for Culinary Arts: A strong passion for culinary excellence and delivering exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership with a focus on mentorship and team development.
- Creativity & Innovation: Innovative in menu development and presentation.
- Excellent Communication: Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
- Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Safety Standards: Non-slip shoes are mandatory for a safe working environment (please note that the company does not provide these).
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Skilled Manipulation: Expert in both gross and fine motor tasks, ensuring precision in handling knives, tools, and ingredients with accuracy and care.
- Visual Acuity: Possess strong peripheral vision and near/far visual accuracy, crucial for culinary preparation and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Auditory Skills: Able to effectively hear and respond to instructions in a bustling, dynamic kitchen environment.
- Strength & Mobility: Capable of handling and moving objects weighing up to 80 pounds with ease, maintaining focus and safety at all times.
- Endurance: Able to stand, walk, and stay on your feet for extended periods while consistently maintaining precision and attention to detail.
- Flexibility & Agility: Comfortable bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and moving fluidly around the kitchen to adapt to the demands of a fast-paced environment.
- Environmental Adaptability: Capable of working comfortably in diverse temperature conditions—whether hot, humid, or cold—and tolerating moderate exposure to smoke, steam, dust, and cleaning agents.
- Allergy Tolerance: Able to handle a wide variety of fresh ingredients without experiencing adverse allergic reactions.
- Elevated Reach: Confident in utilizing step-stools or ladders as needed and capable of reaching below the waist, at the waist, and overhead to access tools and supplies.
- Stability & Balance: Maintain physical stability and balance while executing tasks efficiently, even in fast-paced or crowded settings.
- Clear Communication: Convey instructions clearly and communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations, even in busy or noisy environments.
