Staff Accountant I

We are a world leader in the production, development and sustainable supply of tantalum for a range of industries. Our tantalum operations are vertically integrated from the mining and processing of ore into concentrates, through to the manufacture of capacitor powders and metallurgical products. Tantalum is a strategically important mineral with about half the world's supply used in electronic products such as tablets, smart phones, digital cameras and electronic systems for vehicles. Tantalum is also an additive in nickel-based superalloys used to make turbine blades for the aerospace industry and land-based gas turbines. Other uses for tantalum include sputtering targets, mill products, cutting tools, surgical implants and specialty chemicals and coatings.
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is accountable for preparing the annual spending budget, comparing it to actual results, and reporting on variances from the budget. In addition, the staff accountant will also be responsible for customer invoicing, tracking monthly travel expenditures, and bank reconciliations.
Responsibilities:

Support CFSI “Conflict-Free Smelter” documentation requirements.
Support raw material settlements with suppliers, and timely payments.
Review proposed budget submissions from department managers for accuracy and completeness
Act as an advisor to department managers in formulating their budget submissions
Compare actual to budgeted results at the end of each reporting period, and report on significant spending variances
Create internal management spending reports
Respond to report requests and gather data for ad-hoc business requests
Bank Reconciliations
Customer Invoicing
Credit Checks on Suppliers and Customers
Support quarterly field exams from banking institution
Support interim and annual financial audits

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Accounting with 3-5 years or more related work experience preferred in a manufacturing industry.
Ability to manipulate and manage large volumes of data.
Ability to handle multiple projects under time pressure.
Attention to detail; organized.
Advanced Excel skills (pivots, v-lookups, data manipulation)
Adhere to all intellectual property standards, safety, health and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures and encourage/require other personnel to do the same as appropriate
Hybrid available after 6 months on on-site training

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
