You will be required to perform the job to a high standard to provide protective and decorative finishes for residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly and in a professional manner with the clients. As an important part of the job requires client consultation and advice, a clean and presentable appearance is a must. You will be able to work independently, communicate effectively with suppliers and customers. You will also be able to provide supervision, if required, to junior staff. You will report to the Director daily on the progress of the jobs. Professional communication, attention to detail and quality is essential.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• examining plans, measuring, and marking surfaces and laying out work according to the plans
• preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces; removing of any debris created in the process
• use of special tiling glues - spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles, and setting tiles in position
• using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges and corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes
• ensuring tiles are correctly aligned and spaced
• grouting tiles, and cleaning and removing excess grout
• applying waterproofing systems
• use of granolithic, terrazzo, cement or similar composition depending on the job requirements
• lay colored tiles in patterns to create mosaic as per client requirements

Skills & experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience
Certificate in Wall and Floor Tiling
Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings and plans.
Operation of workshop equipment, particularly tile cutting machines and general power tools
White Card
Forklift license essential
Physically fit
Ability to work with various suppliers, work independently and report to Director.
Must be presentable
Hours & pay:
38hrs/week must be able to work flexible work hours including after hours and weekends
Brisbane based, various locations. Must be available to travel and be away from home if required.
