To strengthen our team, we are looking to fill the position of TAX Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Manage relationships and dealings with various Tax authorities:

Monitor notifications and assessments from various tax authorities.
Investigate and analyze validity of tax assessments.
Collaborate with the internal tax team, legal team and external counsels to timely resolve disputes and matters raised by tax authorities.
Provide feedback gathered from the dealings with tax authorities to the tax compliance team so that future improvement of tax compliance can be achieved.
Provide risks and opportunities learned from the dealings with tax authorities to the tax compliance team so that tax risks and tax efficiencies can be better managed.
Lead discussions and negotiations with tax authorities regarding tax incentives and other tax benefits that could be applicable to UCB.

Manage changes in tax laws, tax systems, and the resulted impact analysis:

Stay abreast of tax laws and law changes in the jurisdictions UCB does business in, especially the ones that are highly relevant and impact UCB materially. Impart such knowledge to the tax compliance team to ensure they are aware of the changes and apply to UCB’s tax compliance.
Work with business stakeholders to analyze the financial and operational impact of tax law changes.
Lead UCB in monitoring, interpreting, and implementing tax reforms.
Work with the tax compliance team to implement changes in tax systems, especially when such system changes resulted from tax law changes.

Manage and collaborate with stakeholders:

Collaborate within the tax team and with other functions to ensure proper and timely support of the business operations from a tax perspective.
Maintain regular contact with key stakeholders and stay informed of UCB’s business developments in Brazil, especially the ones relevant to tax.
Maintain an overall view on UCB’s local country tax operations and tax situations.
Participate in local country leadership meetings to present important tax topics and keep business leaders informed of the important tax developments in a timely manner.
Participate in regular Tax / Legal practice forums.

Manage tax projects, tax-value creation, and others:

Lead and manage tax projects, when applicable.
Connect the dots across functions, operations, and relevant tax rules to optimize tax efficiency.
Other special projects and tasks as they arise.

Requeriments:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Law;

Strong experience in TAX position;
Advanced English;
Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
Desirable experience with accounting systems (preferably SAP) is required.
