Dow has an opening for a Tax Technologist in LAA Tax Technology & Data Management based in São Paulo, Brazil. Requires advanced skills or specialized expertise in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes or procedures to perform a broad range of complex tax assignments. May act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others. Works autonomously within established procedures and practices; proposing improvements to processes and methods as needed. Solves complex problems that arise with little or no precedent.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage improvement projects, focusing on tax compliance, time-saving, risk prevention, and identifying key areas for improvement.
  • Identify and manage any defects, change requests, or new functionality related to the project and current work efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between Tax, Source to Pay, Invoice to Cash, Accounting, Financial Consolidations, and Information Technology departments to improve the understanding of the tax department’s technology needs.
  • Elaborate executive reports.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into overall system setup and configurations (e.g., SAP/Alteryx/RPA/etc.).
  • Tax Calculation System Management (i.e. Tax Benefits in SAP / One Source Indirect Tax Determination)
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to identify specific project needs.
  • Develop functional and technical requirements documents. Collaborate with the development team to ensure requirements and functionality are tested and deployed.
  • Identify, plan for, and direct all tax data management and warehousing needs, including record retention and disclosure requirements.
  • Build and execute test scenarios and scripts. Support client-based testing and issue remediation as needed.
  • Provide ongoing support for post-go-live activities.
  • Design and execute complex data migrations.
  • May perform other jobs related duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Other Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of solid experience in Tax.
  • Advanced English - strong oral and written communication skills.
  • SAP experience.
  • Previous experience in gathering and documenting business requirements, business processes, functional design, and/or user interface design.
  • Ability to influence and demonstrate informal leadership, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in Tax Technology is a plus.
  • Experience with Power Query and building Power BI Dashboards is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python, RPA) is a plus.
  • Experience in solving business problems with technology/software is a plus.
  • Proficiency in working with Generative AI Applications is a plus.
