We are seeking motivated and hardworking Asphalt Paving Labourers to join our road construction team.
Job Overview: As an Asphalt Paving Labourer, you will work alongside skilled operators and supervisors to assist in the paving and maintenance of roads and highways. This role involves physically demanding work, ensuring the preparation and laying of asphalt is done efficiently and meets quality standards. Experience in road construction is preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the laying, spreading, and smoothing of asphalt for road construction and maintenance projects.
• Prepare work areas by removing debris, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces to ensure proper bonding of materials.
• Operate basic hand tools such as rakes, shovels, and compactors to spread and level asphalt materials.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure proper depth, grade, and slope during paving activities.
• Safely and efficiently assist with the operation of paving machinery and ensure smooth transitions between passes.
• Monitor asphalt surface for defects and report any issues to supervisors or equipment operators.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist with site setup and cleanup as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in road construction or asphalt paving is an asset but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in outdoor conditions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to road construction and ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation to and from the job site.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and in various weather conditions as required.
