Scharringa Greenhouses is looking for an assistant grower to join our team!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist grower and other internal staff engaged in the growing, care and maintenance of the company's products.
Pay: $18.50-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist grower and other internal staff engaged in the growing, care and maintenance of the company's products.
- Knowledge in growing, watering techniques and fertilizing multiple species of plants
- Reporting signs of pest or disease
- Reporting tasks and records to Head Grower
- Applying biological control agents and pesticides
- Cutting, transplanting, spacing, moving and cleaning of plants
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance
- Math skills for measurement and calculating
- Be organized, clean and meticulous.
- Be comfortable with repetitive tasks.
- Efficient worker in a fast-paced environment, highly motivated.
- Ability to work in a team environment, time management, and problem-solving and communication skills
- Follow company policies & procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge in multiple species of annuals grown in spring and fall mums
- Current Pesticide Licence
- 3-5 Years of experience, preferably in the flower industry.
- Familiar with United States – Canada Greenhouse-Grown Plant Certification Program (GCP)
- Knowledge of PRIVA system is an asset, should have MS Office experience.
Pay: $18.50-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
