Do you prefer scheduled shifts and enjoy being a part of a team? We are looking for Assisted Living PSWs to care for seniors in the Goderich area. Successful candidates will work scheduled shifts, within a small team setting, with the option for additional hours with In Home care as well.
Casual positions available with the Goderich Assisted Living program with regular scheduled shifts. Shifts include 7-3 pm, 7-2 pm & 2:30-9:30 pm. Candidates must be willing to work days, evenings and every other weekend and to carry an “on call” pager. Must be an eager team player and available to assist with “fill in” schedule.
SUMMARY:
The AL PSW assists clients with normal activities of daily living that the client is unable to perform unassisted. Under the direction of the Supervisor, the AL PSW will perform duties as outlined in the service plan for the client(s) within the team schedule. The duties vary according to the individual clients receiving service. The AL PSW must work within a goal-directed, outcome based and Client Driven Care philosophy.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Current PSW Certificate, HSW working towards PSW Certificate or comparable, e.g. RPN.
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR level C.
Demonstrated problem solving, ability to assess situations, set priorities and decision making skills.
Demonstrated willingness and ability to be adaptable, build relationships, focus on consumers needs and communicate effectively at all levels of the Agency, community and other AL team members.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
Valid Ontario driver’s license.
Previous Assisted Living experience an asset.
Ability to respond to “on call” pages within a 30 minute time frame.
French Speaking would be an asset.
