Capital Fund Development Coordinator

Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Capital Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for implementation of the agency’s marketing and development plan as set out by the Capital Fund Development Committee.
Some Key Responsibilities
· Develop policies and procedures to meet Revenue Canada charitable non-profit standards, government legislation and organizational goals;
· Develop and implement standards/guidelines related to risk management protocols; code of conduct, ethical issues in regards to annual giving, planned giving, corporate giving, special events, marketing productive enterprise and other related initiatives;
· Develop printed and electronic materials to be used for fund raising advertising, marketing and other agency’s business-related campaign;
· Research, identify and communicate with key stakeholders in order to establish and strengthen public relationships for fund raising, sponsorship, and other revenue generating initiatives;
· Ensure effective and timely recognition and thanking or donors
· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial and event/program reports that meet with the funder’s requirements
· Prepare for and participate in outreach initiatives of agency’s business including mall displays, community events, special celebrations, etc;
· Assist with the preparation of materials, budgets, funding submissions and proposal writing in regards to fund raising and marketing initiatives
Qualifications
· Post secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations or a related program
· Finnish speaking skill is considered an asset
· An acceptable Police Vulnerable Sector Check verified within the past six months
· 2-step TB test within the past six months
Experience
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant fund development experience
· Experience working in deadline-driven environments
· Experience in multi project management
· Experience with writing letters of inquiry and grant proposals
Knowledge/Skills
· Knowledge of fundraising principles, and theories Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies
· Knowledge of the operation of a fund development department and its function in a non- profit organization
· Knowledge of privacy legislation and able to conduct business in accordance to CFRE/AFP/CAGP code of ethics
· Excellent administrative and computer skills including proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc...) as well as internet/website experience
· Ability to prepare and analyze program budgets, financial and statistical reports and make recommendations when necessary
