JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to and under the general direction of the Project Supervisor and Project Superintendent, the HIAB Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the HIAB boom truck and crane. In addition, the operator will check equipment, clean, lubricate and maintain the equipment in good condition.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs the safe operation and routine maintenance of equipment being operated.
· Conducts pre-operational checks on and inspection of equipment and completes logs.
· Reports mechanical deficiencies and maintenance required to the project supervisor, maintenance department or fleet manager.
· Operates the HIAB crane to load and unload the HIAB truck.
· Conducts- pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refuel equipment.
· Develops an understanding of Load Charts and Equipment capabilities/ capacities.
· Ensures the securement and strapping of all loads.
· Maintains all CVSE and legislative loading and driving requirements.
· Adheres to all safe work procedures, safe operations procedures and manufactures operation procedures.
· Develops lift plans and participate in project safety and planning meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid Class 1 Driver license.
· E-Rail Certification required (Criminal Record Check)
· Clean abstract.
· Class B Crane Certification (Minimum).
· All applicable Safety Certifications.
· 40-ton boom truck experience. (Articulating and Fixed boom).
· TDG
· WHMIS
· CSTS
· Grond Disturbance
