Daytime Lab Technician

You'll Do:
- Understand and practice all Process Lab (SOPs) Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with developing and updating all SOPs
- Perform daily physical board properties tests as per the Technical Quality Manual, to support the shift Lab Technician
- Perform daily raw material testing regarding strand analysis
- Assist in off-loading of resin and wax, including unloading trucks and cars
- Monitor tank levels for resin and wax inventory control
- Help trouble shoot board quality problems. I.e. density variations, blows, mechanical properties.
- Assist completing bucket tests
- Oversee the process to print, track, and recording reasons for off-grade as needed
- Review product change over change stamps, and verify quality specifications as per West Fraser’s Technical Quality Manual
- Verify and check dimensions, blender lock outs, and quarantine any questionable boards
- Communicate regularly with the team members regarding quality issues and problems
- Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent
- Level 1 APA inspector, and willing to progress to Level 2 APA
- Experience as a Shift Lab Technician
- The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
