Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist 2 to join the Electroencephalography (EEG) team at Richmond Hospital in Richmond, BC. Apply today to join our team!



As a Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist 2 you will:

  • Work without general supervision to perform technical functions related to diagnostic neurophysiology.
  • Perform duties such as conducting various tests including Electroencephalography (E.E.G), Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conduction studies, Electromyography (E.M.G.) and Magnetic Evoked Potentials (M.E.P.).
  • Record measurements, formulating technical reports for interpretation by medical staff in clinical diagnosis.
  • Perform operating room monitoring procedures, as required.
Qualifications: Education & Experience
  • Graduation with Diploma of Technology in Electrophysiology.
  • Two years’ recent, related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Successful writing of the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (CBRET) certification exam and the Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC) certification exam.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based Electroneurophysiology practice related to conducting various diagnostic tests including E.E.G., Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction studies, EMG, and M.E.P.
  • Broad knowledge of Electroneurophysiology theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.
  • Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with Electroneurophysiology equipment.
  • Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, leader, and facilitator.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach/demonstrate.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in both one-on-one and in groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
  • Skill in the use of equipment, and in techniques appropriate to the assessment of clients.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
