We are seeking engineers with passion and a desire to learn, for advanced electrification in the mining industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing the sub systems, and optimizing electric battery systems for heavy-duty mining equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop battery systems for electric mining equipment, including selecting components such as battery cells, cooling systems, and power electronics.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to integrate battery systems into mining machinery.
Conduct simulations and analysis to optimize battery performance, lifespan, and safety in harsh mining environments.
Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of battery systems both in laboratory and field conditions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to battery systems and electric machinery.
Support the transition from prototype to production by working closely with manufacturing teams.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in battery systems, energy storage, and electric vehicle technologies.
Training technicians and tech support staff on the systems of battery electric mining equipment
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in battery design, specifically for high-power applications (experience in mining equipment or heavy-duty machinery is a plus).
Strong understanding of battery chemistry, thermal management, and power electronics.
Proficiency with simulation tools and CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, CREO, etc.).
Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, SAE, and UL for electric battery systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in designing battery systems for off-road or heavy-duty vehicles.
Familiarity with battery safety standards and certification processes.
Hands-on experience with testing and prototyping battery systems in industrial applications.
Ability to travel internationally
