Industrial Electricians

The Industrial Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in an industrial environment. This individual will have the ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to provide troubleshooting and repair services. The Industrial Electrician will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components in order to ensure the continued safe, efficient and effective operations of all equipment and fixtures utilized by the organization.
OBJECTIVES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layouts of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, install, and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
- Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Installation of EHT & accessories.
- Must possess construction and industrial electrical experience.
- Must be a Certified Electrical Journeyperson.
- Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.
- Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).
- Excellent communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work safely.
- Must be fit-for-duty.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada.
