Job Description
What you will be doing

We invite you to bring your warm, engaging customer service skills to help foster the health and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues through our Kids Adventure Camp and Health Club Facilities. Whether our guests are adventuring, playing, swimming, or using the fitness center – the thoughtful attention you provide will make them feel welcome and valued.
Reporting to the Resort Activities Management team, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support Resort Activities team with boathouse and other guest activities as required
  • Assist in continuous marketing and promotion of all Resort Activities’ activities
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Comply with all the safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Support and assist the Conference Services team with special events as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Kids Adventure Camp:
  • Organize activities and supervise up to 10 children ages 5 and up
  • Assisting Conference Services and Special events with functions as needed
  • Maintain a safe and fun environment for all children participating in activities
  • Organize, program and run kid’s camp activities and events
  • Maintain a safe and fun environment for all children participating in activities, especially off property experiences
  • Assist in continuous marketing and promotion of all Children’s activities
Health/Fitness Center:
  • Welcome guests to the Health Club and ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Provide family friendly programming
  • Ensure the Health Club area is clean and well maintained with adequate supplies in pool area and change rooms
  • Ensure the Health Club facility is in peak condition at all times by cleaning and sanitization of all equipment, keeping all areas supplies adequately stocked, and maintaining the facilities general cleanliness
  • Provide basic instruction to guests in use of equipment and ensure safety regulations are adhered to in fitness/pool areas
  • Educate guests on the programs and activities available
  • Work in co-operation with engineering department to ensure the proper and timely recording of all Pool readings and addition of chemicals.

Qualifications
Your skillset includes

  • Previous experience in recreation, health club & pools, child care or a similar environment will be an asset
  • Must possess outstanding guest service skills, including professional verbal communication skills
  • Interest in health and physical activity, and enjoy working with children & families.
  • Retail or cash handling experience an asset
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid required
  • Highly responsible and reliable, demonstrating initiative as required
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including:
    • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
    • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
    • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
    • Capable of lifting and moving canoes (90 pounds+)
    • Capable of pushing pool towel bins (90 pounds+)
  • You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. Submission of your application to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.
