Machine Operator (Print production)
Our client in the printing industry is seeking a Machine Operator to oversee document production and insertion processes at a multi-customer location. The role involves operating large-scale insertion equipment and performing hand insertion tasks to prepare documents for mailing through Canada Post. You will work closely with a production team to ensure high-quality results that meet customer requirements. This position requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
What is in it for you:

• Hourly salary of $16.50.

• 12-month contract.

• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.

• Work schedule from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

• On-site work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform insertion services using large inserters and hand insertion methods.

• Program and set up insertion equipment to meet job specifications.

• Clean and maintain equipment, conducting minor repairs as needed to reduce service calls and maximize uptime.

• Ensure quality control throughout the production process to deliver flawless customer jobs.

• Record job details, maintain production forms, and track inventory.

• Hand-insert multiple documents into various sizes of envelopes for mailing.

• Ensure documents are correctly prepared for Canada Post standards.

• Communicate effectively with customers and the production team to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

What you will need to succeed:

• High school diploma.

• 2+ years of experience in a print shop environment.

• Familiarity with W&D Insertion Equipment, Neo Post/Quadient Mail Machine, and Pitney Bowes Mail Machine (an asset).

• Ability to operate large, centralized digital equipment.

• Experience in finishing/binding equipment operation.

• Proficiency with PC applications in a networked environment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to detect production inconsistencies.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
