Responsibilities:

The job responsibilities for this role includes:

• Oversee and lead the execution of the work to ensure it is completed to the quality, standard, and specifications required.
• Ensure that all crew members have the required capability and training to fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
• Install underground process and plumbing piping systems (HDPE, PVC, Ductile Iron, Steel, Copper etc.) ranging from ½” - 60” diameter.
• Install process equipment (pumps, mixers, blowers, compressors, gates, valves)
• Install metal stairs, platforms, handrails and other structures
• Inspect, pressure test, and disinfect piping prior to system testing.
• Identify the required tools and special equipment necessary to complete the site and shop project works.
• Perform various tasks on the labor crew to support mechanical/civil operations.

Requirements:

• Experience leading a small crew of 2-5
  
• Experience in construction and/or water/wastewater treatment industries

• Experience with the installation of a variety of civil, process and plumbing piping (HDPE, PVC, Ductile Iron, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper etc.) ranging from ½” - 72”
• Experience installing equipment, such as pumps, mixers, blowers, compressors, gates, and valves
  

• Physically fit to be able to lift large weights and climb in and out of trenches, manholes, etc.
• Highly organized and motivated to carry out a variety of duties (cleanup, etc.)
• Knowledge of safe hoisting and rigging procedures
• Journeyman or Red Seal Pipefitter or Plumber
• Construction Safety Training Systems Certificate (CSTS)
• First Aid Level 1 or 2 is an asset
• Confined Space Entry training is an asset
  
• Aptitude to problem solve and think “outside the box”
• Ability to work effectively independently and within a team
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
• Ability to function well in a changing environment
• Willing to learn on and off the job
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
• The successful applicant must be able to provide their own 'tools of the trade'.
