About Rothewood
Rothewood Academy, established in 2015, is a full-day early learning program designed for infants and children up to five years old. The enriched curriculum features a unique partnership of core subjects, such as reading and math with fine arts including drama and yoga, providing children with the freedom to learn and grow through play. Our program has a reputation for highly developing a child’s intellect and delivering the finest start in education, arts and the humanities. The full-day early learning and junior kindergarten programs at Rothewood are far beyond the typical childcare programs found throughout Canada.
The Principal’s role is to inspire teachers to become better teachers and facilitate the implementation of the Rothewood educational method and philosophy. The Principal will always be respectful of ideas, be a true listener and be prepared with countless resources and ideas to bring to the table. Other job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that the Rothewood curriculum and general operational policies of the school are carried out
• Receiving corporate training and ongoing professional development training through corporate learning portal
• Provide stimulation and motivation for teachers to spend time growing and learning together.
• Hiring and new staff orientation
• Conduct regular one-on-ones with all teachers
• Be a resource for new and aspiring Rothewood teachers
• Conducting new family/student interviews
• Developing a strong and positive relationship with families
• Managing and continuously monitoring Teacher’s progress and providing feedback regularly
• Working a minimum of 15 hours per week in class, with each and every Teacher, observing Teachers leading their activities, as well as presenting activities
• Being able to talk knowledgeably about our program and the Rothewood philosophy to families, staff and outside groups and individuals

Requirements

• ECE Certificate is required and I/T is an asset.
• Quick-thinking, confident, self-motivated, organized, and friendly personalities
• Be punctual, efficient, discreet, and pleasant on telephone and in person
• Willing to learn and grow with the team
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally and respect the beliefs, culture and ethnic heritage of others.
• Proficiency with computer systems and software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and willing to learn new software
• At least 2 years of experience in a pre-school or childcare setting
• At least 1 year of management experience

Salary

• Annual Salary starting from at $56,000 depends on experience/abilities/performances
• Plus wage enhancement $6/hour
