BGC Okanagan is hiring a Program Coordinator to oversee the Learn On Program. Learn On is an academic support program for youth ages 13-21 that aims to bridge the systemic inequities in educational attainment and enhance academic opportunities for youth. Learn On programming contains three focus areas: Academic Support, Transitional Support, and Social-Emotional Wellbeing. This is a full-time temporary position, September 2024-March 31, 2025

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of an assigned program. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of youth and families are met. Ensures that program standards, guidelines and policies of BGCO are maintained and that all requirements are met.
- Assists with the recruitment of program staff and volunteers including conducting interviews, selection, hiring, and orientation.
- Authority for the day-to-day direction, performance feedback of program staff and volunteers. Addresses staff workplace issues and assists in resolving workplace disputes.
- Ensures that accurate program and client records are maintained, and that confidentiality is a priority.
- Responsible for the co-ordination of quality and diverse programming. Works closely with the Manager on program development, procedures, and evaluations.
- Manages program budgets.
- Ensures effective communication with staff and participants. Performs all other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Three years recent related experience including one-year supervisory or administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Diploma in a related human/social service field.
- First Aid certification and Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid drivers license and transportation to work at multiple locations.
- Successful completion of the Agency screening process, including criminal record check
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Wage: $24.69 per hour and cost-shared benefits
