Job Overview
The Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing and enhancing product quality across all stages—from supplier components through internal production processes to customer satisfaction. This role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring production quality, and acting as a liaison to resolve customer quality issues. The Quality Engineer is expected to conduct audits, implement corrective actions, and lead quality improvement initiatives to meet company standards and exceed customer expectations.
Duties

Supplier Quality Management/ Internal Quality Control and Improvement/ Customer Quality Support:

Lead quality improvement projects and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Conduct supplier audits to qualify and assess suppliers based on company quality standards.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor supplier performance and quality metrics, addressing non-conformance issues promptly.
Work closely with procurement and engineering teams to establish and communicate quality requirements for suppliers.
Develop and implement internal quality control processes, test methods, and standards for production.
Conduct root cause analysis on internal quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Perform regular internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
Use quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC) and data analysis to identify trends and drive continuous improvement within production.
Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, addressing and resolving product quality concerns.
Conduct root cause analysis on customer complaints and prepare detailed reports, including 8D or 5-Why methodologies.
Track and analyze customer satisfaction metrics, using feedback to inform internal quality improvements.
Support customer audits and ensure the company meets customer-specific quality standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of audits, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions for both internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare and present quality reports on supplier performance, production quality, and customer feedback.
Ensure quality documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with production, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement and improve Total Quality Management (TQM) and Lean initiatives.
