POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Globe and Mail is looking for an experienced business reporter for Globe Advisor. The successful candidate will deliver regular coverage of investment industry news and trends, securities regulation, financial markets, exchange-traded funds and mutual funds, and alternative investments, with stories geared toward a B2B audience.
The successful candidate will work with the Globe Advisor editor and the assistant editor to produce industry-leading coverage that encourages readers to register and subscribe to the website. Candidates must be well versed in financial markets and either have, or have a strong desire to develop, a deep understanding of Canada’s financial advisor community.
The successful candidate will also be required to monitor news and trends in the financial markets and the wealth management sector, to develop and maintain relationships with industry sources, to write in-depth stories that separate Globe Advisor from the competition and make it a must-read destination.
Applicants should have a minimum of three years of newsroom or other journalism experience. Experience in broadcast and multimedia environments is a significant asset. We are seeking team players who bring an enthusiastic approach to journalism, self-starters who take ownership of multiple tasks, who are enterprising, nimble and creative, and who demonstrate a proven ability to immerse themselves in a specific beat.

SALARY: This position is classified as Reporter under Group C of the Editorial Collective Agreement
