Job Description:
S.M.A.R.T. Tutors provide individual tutoring and test preparation services to meet the needs of learners through one-on-one teaching. S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring makes the connection between tutor and student easy. Our tutor’s focus is on the student. Our administration team handles student intake, parent communication, billing, and marketing.
Tutoring and Test Preparation

• Provide schoolwork support, instruction of lessons, and applicable learning activities at the student’s home.

• Assist Students in understanding concepts, processes, and structures rather than giving them the answers.

Administration

• Respond to emails in a timely manner.

• Submit Progress Reports and Invoice monthly (MS Word).

Role Modeling

• Model good study habits and practice the highest professional standard of punctuality, confidentiality, accuracy, resourcefulness, communication, preparation, documentation, appearance, and conduct with clients and administration of S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services.

Qualifications:
Experience

• Tutoring
• Teaching/ Teacher Placement

Education

• Bachelor of Education
• Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
• Additional Qualifications an asset

Required

• Driver’s licence
• Reliable transportation
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check (upon hire)

Skills:

• Strong communication skills to confidently explain information
• Organizational skills to effectively process all documentation
• Self-confidence to take initiative and work independently

Work Hours

• Set your own hours Monday to Friday
• Tutoring typically happens after school (September – June) 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• Summer Review/ Preview Sessions (July - August) 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
