Responsibilities
The Team Supporter is a versatile, detail-oriented position where you’ll have influence over the direction and evolution of your career. This person joins our enthusiastic and engaged back-office team in keeping the operations of LTRT running smoothly.
You’ll work with our combined accessibility and transit teams, and your work will help each of the respective teams to make significant and meaningful change in their fields. You will tackle a wide variety of administrative tasks, applying your smarts, experience, and creativity. The theme that underpins your work is details, details, details – in accurately processing, tracking, coordinating and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Format documents, reports, and presentations for internal and external use, checking for accessibility, brand guideline adherence, grammar, and other details
- Develop and maintain corporate templates in MS Word and Power Point
- Manage our social media accounts and website to keep them engaging and up to date, and have them support our broader business objectives
- Take ownership of opening and closing new projects, along with maintaining our ever-important project database
- Coordinate with other Team Supporters to develop and update LTRT policies, and develop new administrative processes (e.g. we’re deploying a client database)
- Support the team with scheduling client meetings, consultations, and surveys
- Help coordinate office activities, events, and operations
- And much, much more – including seeking your input about your work!
Here’s some examples of how we are improving our communities:
- We are crafting Niagara Transit’s first-ever Transit Master Plan, proving the value of improved regional services and integration for residents, visitors and businesses.
- We developed a strategy for BC Transit on how its specialized services for customers with disabilities should be delivered consistently across the province.
- We engaged with community partners, stakeholders and residents in Charlottetown to develop a transformative Transit Master Plan for the Prince Edward Island Capital Area.
- We recruited and worked with people with disabilities to test proposed new signage at the National Gallery of Canada. We then made recommendations to improve its accessibility.
- We worked with three municipalities in the Saanich Peninsula to assess their current accessibility, engage with people with disabilities, and develop plans on how to make improvements in the next three years.
- We assessed the hiring, retention, and accommodation processes of a major manufacturer and recommended improvements.
Do you have some or all of the following?
- Experience as an office administrator, with a desire to grow and take on new challenges.
- A love for detail and accuracy, helping to maintain or improve our organizational approach and aesthetic.
- Enjoy working independently, as well as in team environments.
- The ability to organize and prioritize tasks coming to you from multiple business areas
- Comfortable with technology, especially with MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Teams, Outlook).
- Can find contentment in the completion of sometimes repetitive tasks (repetitive tasks….. repetitive tasks…..), knowing that you bring order and calm to what could otherwise be chaos.
- Have interests outside of work and a willingness to play a board game now and again.
- Have a passion for public transit and/or accessibility issues.
- A College diploma or University degree is preferred/desirable (but professional and lived experience is absolutely valued!).
- Social Media content creation experience, with a knack for creating a consistent tone and voice (check out our Linked In page for more info).
- Additional language skills are valued: French, ASL, LSQ, Indigenous languages, etc.
- Experience using Asana or other similar project management software is beneficial.
We are committed to reflecting the diversity of our communities and to supporting all our people to do their best work and be their whole selves. We strive to be an accessible workplace and offer accommodations for employees with disabilities. We welcome applications from, Indigenous folks, people with disabilities, women, racialized candidates, and 2SLGBTQ candidates.
