Currently hiring for schools mostly in Burnaby with a few in Vancouver. Must be available between Sept.23 and Dec.16.
Professor Puffin’s Challenge Club is an after-school enrichment program that offers a fun, educational, and engaging experience for children in grades 1-4. The program uses a variety of activities to review subjects covered in the BC school curriculum (Science, art, nature, English, etc.) while mixing in entertaining topics to spark children’s interest. The program aims to develop teamwork, problem-solving skills, and focus, as well as expanded vocabulary and increased confidence.
Professor Puffin's Challenge Club offers classes in public and private elementary schools at the end of the regular school day. Professor Puffin instructors should be available to teach 2-3 lessons in the afternoon each week for the duration of the session (12 weeks). Instructors are assigned to specific schools and stay with the same schools and days of the week for the entire session, and preferably throughout the school year.
Job Requirements:
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
- Clear spoken English (Other languages an asset).
- Mature and highly dependable, being on-time and commitment are must haves.
- General knowledge of school subjects and interest in games and trivia
- Criminal background check for vulnerable sectors.
- Live in the city of Vancouver or Burnaby.
- Experience leading groups of children.
- Must be able to stand for 1-2 hours and setup/take down tables and chairs when required.
- This is a very part time position, teach 2-3 lessons per week.
- Compensation $56/lesson.
- Each lesson last about 1 hour, however set up and clean up are also included in lesson pay.
- Currently hiring for the Fall session, (Sept.23 to Dec.16)
- Paid training ($19.50/hour)
- Activity lesson plans, content and materials are all provided.
- Being comfortable using a tablet is also an asset.

- Resume indicating your experience working with or leading groups of children (length of time, age range, number of children in a group, responsibilities, etc.)
Pay: $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required
- No weekends

- Which days of the week are you available in the afternoons between September 23 and December 16? (Please note that we do not teach any lessons on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)
- How would you travel to the assigned locations/schools? (e.g. car, public transit, etc.)
- If hired are you available for in person training (10am-5pm) on September 16, 20 or 25? (please specify for which dates you would be available)
- Are you in Canada on a work/study permit?
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
