Responsible for engineering and technical requirements of production operations for a business unit. This includes tooling, process engineering, production sequence, the solution of critical manufacturing engineering problems, the analysis of methods to reduce operating time and cost, and optimizing product design for purposes of manufacturing.

Job Summary:
This role is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with suppliers. Ensure that suppliers meet quality standards and deliver products that meet our and our customers’ expectations. By establishing robust quality control procedures, conducting supplier inspections and audits, and by driving continuous improvement, this role is critical in enhancing the overall quality of our suppliers’ products and the success of the company’s overseas supply chain.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an effective quality management system to enhance and improve the quality of the company’s products and services.
• Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and maintain the standards of excellence of the Cannon Equipment brand.
• Identify and report quality issues to Cannon Equipment Leadership and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
• Establish performance measurements to evaluate organizational performance, product quality, services, customer satisfaction, and the cost of poor quality. Use these evaluations to target improvement efforts.
• Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports.
• Develop positive relationships and work closely with strategic sourcing to onboard and manage new and existing suppliers, leading the qualification process and ongoing surveillance.
• Provide supplier quality functional and cross-functional leadership, training, and mentoring.
• Maintain a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
• Investigate all customer complaints and work with supplier and customer quality representatives to implement effective corrective action.
• Compile, write, and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
• Identify and work on a portfolio of projects to improve operational processes and build system efficiencies, providing status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of quality management principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems is a plus.

• Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
• Working knowledge of International Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems (QS-9000 as applicable for automotive sector).
• Hands-on experience and proven success working as a liaison between sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers in and outside the USA.
