Currently, we are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team. Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for:

Position Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: Hybrid - Medellin, Colombia

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer with extensive experience building performant, scalable, reliable and testable software solutions as key part of the Co DE engineering team. You are expected to be a hands on developer who has designed reliable systems utilizing modern techniques (event streaming, micro-services,etc), has demonstrable experience applying software design patterns to complex problems and has worked extensively in an Agile SCRUM model.

Extensive experience promoting and working with test driven development
Hands on participation in design, coding, testing, and deploying systems
Has mentored and encouraged other developers
Experience with various back-end micro-services frameworks (Spring, Helidon)
Experience working with front-end stacks such as Angular and/or React
Designs systems with an APIs first architectural approach
Experience working in and promoting a Dev Ops culture which drives continuous delivery
Demonstrable experience in promoting and continuous improvement of Agile SCRUM practice
Demonstrable experience improving existing architectures as business needs and tech stacks evolve
Experience working effectively with remote and internal development teams

Required Skills & Experience:

BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject
Proven hands-on Software Development experience, 10+ years
Proven experience in Java and Web development technologies, 5+ years
Profound insight of Java internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, Oracle, SQL and ORM technologies (Hibernate, i Batis)
Strong knowledge of Java Script and popular Java Script libraries
Working knowledge of REST frameworks
Working experience with Web Sphere application server and embeddable web servers
Experience with containers, and cloud operating environments (Azure)
Experience with cloud native technologies – Faa S, Daa S, Kafka – is a plus
Experience with Maven, Git and Git Hub
Experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira)
Experience with Jasper Reports
Working knowledge of C programming in Unix/Linux environment

Nice to haves:

Experience in Supply Chain Logistics is a plus
Experience in development of Warehouse Management systems is a plus
Experience interfacing with autonomous control system is a plus

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across different time zones
Good arithmetic, reading, and typing skills
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Be able to see, speak and hear
Ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines
