The Data Experience Team (DX) operates on Big Data systems. We collect, process, and aggregate Akamai network metrics for the purposes of analytics, reporting, and visualization.
Make a difference in your own way
You'll be working on innovating and developing new and ground-breaking Big Data products. It provides services for the rest of the Platform and Akamai engineering groups. We strive to accelerate development, reduce operational costs and provide common secured common services.
As a Manager Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Leading a team of Dev Ops and Site Reliability Engineers
• Working with internal customers as needed to troubleshoot and resolve business affecting issues
• Ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools, improving system health and reliability.
• Documenting and providing cross-training to peers for projects and products worked on
• Cooperating with external engineering teams support to troubleshoot complex problems that cross team's specialization
• Working in all stages of the software release process in all development and production environments

Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:

• Have proven experience leading a team of Dev Ops and Site Reliability Engineers
• Have proven experience in designing and implementing solutions for Kubernetes
• Have solid experience in setting up large-scale container technology (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Have experience in migrating and creating systems on cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP/GKE/AKS)
• Be responsible, self-managed, self-motivated, and able to work with little or no supervision
• Be a good team player, collaborating with people from across the business and fluent in English
