Role Purpose
Implement commercial/pricing plans and processes to understand customer needs, determine appropriate commercial/pricing for the business and enhance competitive position of the business offerings in line with business strategy and objectives, Group guidelines and policies.
Main Accountabilities
- Implement commercial/pricing plans and processes for development of proposals and commercial/pricing programs to understand customer needs, determine appropriate commercial/pricing for the business and enhance competitive position of the business offerings
- Develop complex, competitive and consistent commercial/pricing proposals according to commercial/pricing policies and standards across customers, products, countries
- Prepare efficient responses to commercial/pricing requests and monitor performance of commercial/pricing requests
- Implement tools, procedures and databases to systemize the commercial/pricing process, profitability analysis, benchmarking and price simulation
- Apply price setting process and analyze commercial/pricing requests to achieve highest quality standards and internal controls
- Examine profitability and rate levels for existing and potential business and commercial/pricing and provide management reports; and advise and make recommendations for commercial/pricing decisions
- Document complex price proposals and communicate to relevant stakeholders according to standards
- Analyze to understand competitive landscape and identify target market position by geography, market segment, customer group, etc: and identify trends and develop recommendations for improvements that deliver higher quality and/or lower cost
- Provide support on issues and problems from less experienced/ new team members, provide direction and guidance as needed
- Minimum of 6-8 years of industry experience specifically in Pricing Manager positions, preferably with management experience within DHL.
- Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and diverse experience in related field.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing projects.
- Requires high level of critical thinking and ingenuity in bringing successful resolution to unusually complex and strategic issues.
- Strong knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, processes, and practices.
- Develops/deploys new applications based on professional principles and theories.
- Ability to interface and drive results with management at all levels.
- Travel required below 50%
- Bilingual: English and Spanish.
