About This Role
The Specialist II, Grants Management is responsible for internal technical and administrative management of post-award projects. The Specialist supervises and coordinates grant-funded projects to ensure alignment with project objectives and compliance with Child Fund and donor requirements. The Specialist also coordinates with teams in Finance, Business Development, and Programs to ensure program quality, financial compliance, and capacity building. Finally, the Specialist identifies risks and recommends improvements for better efficiency and execution of projects, promoting the appropriate use of resources and the application of best practices to maximize impact.
This position is located in Quito, Ecuador. Remote candidates will not be considered. This position is funded through June 30, 2025 with the possibility of extension.
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, project management, finance, or other relevant area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in grants and project management in international development organizations.
- Experience supervising personnel.
- Experience managing development and humanitarian response projects funded by international donors (US government, EU, etc.).
- Previous experience working with vulnerable populations, migrating families, women, children and adolescents is preferred.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar customer relationship management (CRM) systems for grant tracking and donor management preferred.
- Project Management certification is beneficial.
Pre-Award Support
- Actively participate in proposal development by providing technical and financial inputs and ensuring proposals are compliant with donor requirements.
- Review administrative documents with donors to ensure that terms and conditions are met before signing.
- With Business Development team, lead the start-up process for new grants, including the validation of administrative, technical, and financial documentation.
- Coordinate and supervise the technical and financial implementation of projects, ensuring compliance with objectives and donor deadlines.

Supervise and lead a team of Project Coordinators and Project Managers, promoting high performance, fostering a culture of inclusion and professional development, and aligning individual objectives with each project’s strategic objectives.
- Establish work plans, complete performance evaluations, and provide continuous feedback.
- Provide technical assistance to and oversight of implementing partners/sub-contracted organizations in projects.
- Evaluate risks associated with project execution and propose timely mitigation measures.
- Regularly review and validate technical and financial reports before they are sent to donors.
- Record and review data using the organization’s internal and external systems.
- Support the project close-out, including reviewing of technical reports and coordinating the validation of financial reports by the corresponding area.
- Coordinate with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) focal point on data collection and analysis used for decision-making, feedback, and accountability to project stakeholders.
- Document and systematize methodologies, best practices, and knowledge obtained from projects to build capacity for future Child Fund grants implementation and strengthen the capacity of the organization and its partners.
- Participate with the Business Development team and other Country Office staff on donor engagement.
- Represent Child Fund in strategic events and meetings to promote relationships with key donors and partners.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced competency with MS Excel.
- Demonstrated team management and supervision skills.
- Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and deadlines with high attention to detail.
- The ability to travel domestically up to 25%.
