ROLE PURPOSE: The health officer will be crucial in Supervising all health component activities, coordinating, implementing, and reporting under BPRM project in Save the Children International (SCI), working closely with partner NGOs, the project team, Donor, The Health officer will be responsible for delivering timely results and coordinating with governmental, partner, and community stakeholders to establish a coherent project model on the ground.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Project Manager
Dimensions: Save the Children International works in 13 regions in Egypt with a current staff complement of approximately 300+ staff and current expenditure of approximately US $12 million each year.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Project Implementation
- Participate and supervise all health Activities implemented through partner NGOS including capacity building of community workers and partner NGOs teams, medical convoys, malnutrition screening and other activities.
- Health awareness promotion to communities through sessions and events.
- Actively participate in project management cycle activities including needs assessment, project design, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Designing and implementing community reach out work plan and tracking all related expenditures; prepare financial forecast/ plans directly linked to community work plans.
- Support the project manager in leading and overseeing high quality implementation of SC’s Health activities for refugees and host communities to fulfil obligations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Coach and build the capacity of community mobilization team as needed.
- Lead on SCI community-based COVID-19 response activities, including community-based surveillance, hygiene kits’ distribution, etc.
- Utilize the Performance Management System, define expectations of staff members, develop workplans and improvement plans as needed.
- Assures and revises comprehensive, accurate, and on time data registration process.
- Assures that the action taken are documented and cases are followed up, and the feedback recorded.
- Support for preparing all reports needed for Health activities.
- Support in quality budget phasing, monitoring, and utilization, participates in cost/benefit assessment for Health activities guided by donor SOPs

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree of medicine/pharmacy with a minimum of 3 years of successful experience in project implementation with a reputed organization or NGO.
- Previous work with refugees/asylum seekers is a plus.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing and negotiation.
- Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.
- Very good computer skills.
- Report writing skills in English required.
- Good knowledge of Child Safeguarding will be an added advantage.
