We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Regional Transformation PMO Lead GSC Cairo
Principal responsibilities
- Develop and lead core PMO processes including project reporting, risks & issues management, project governance processes, planning and dependency management, financial reporting, resources planning and tracking.
- Work with programme management to produce regular and ad hoc reporting for presentation to a range of levels within the organization.
- Perform Control Monitoring activities on MENAT and other in-scope initiatives.
- Improve and maintain an effective change execution risk control environment.
- Train and upskill MENAT transformation team knowledge to ensure adherence to change framework standards.
- Maintain working understanding of the objectives, plans and risks of the wider MENAT programmes.
- Develop effective relationships with key programme stakeholders.
- Provide input to related initiatives governance forums, to advise stakeholders on status, delivery feasibility, plans, dependencies, risks and issues.
- Identify relevant contributors to the project reporting processes, and ensure they are fully engaged and understand their required inputs and timelines.
- Clearly communicate progress, issues and successes to stakeholders.
- Deliver an effective and efficient project reporting process, including management of operational risks associated with the programme.
- Ensure adherence with Change Framework and use of standard project management tooling e.g. Clarity.
- Manage all regulatory and compliance matters and Non-Financial Risks (NFRs).
- Implement best practice in risk policies and governance frameworks.
- Track progress of mitigating actions for risks/issues/ dependencies and highlights any scope change.
- Anticipate risks/ issues/dependencies that are not easily evident and help others to recognize them.
- Create an environment which anticipates risk, ensuring action is taken to quantify and mitigate them.
- Communicate changes in policy and governance effectively, reinforcing risk processes within the project / programme team.
- Oversees the development of well-defined programme and project plans: coordinates planning with delivery partner teams. Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimizes the plan to maximize benefits and minimize risk.
- Works with leadership to obtain buy-in, collaborating with and influencing senior management stakeholders for all key plans, commitments and changes.
- Proactively determines, analyses and identifies performance metrics and measurements and dictates improvement plans to track and drive on-time delivery and adherence to budget.
- Actively manages and co-ordinates the programme roadmap, handling changes as they arise and keeping stakeholders focused on the agreed change outcomes and benefits.
- Challenges and intervenes where there is scope creep, budget overrun, plan slippage and threat to benefit realization.
- Obtains sponsor and stakeholder sign-off for deliverables, formally closes projects, assesses stakeholder satisfaction and captures lessons learnt.
- Anticipates and identifies existing or emerging risks & issues.
- Oversees the tracking of project risks, issues & dependencies, assesses the impact on the benefit realization for the project and takes action to minimize impact, actively challenging and removing obstacles.
- Plans and manages the implementation of the change, to ensure business benefits are realized and that the transition from current state to target state is smooth.
- Ensures that the organization and other change audiences are ready, willing and able to function in the new business environment.
- Provides timely reports on project status, risks and issues, evaluating project performance based on management information.
- Manages and reports on the project budget, acting on any variance and promoting good budget control.
- Works closely with delivery partners on planning, design and estimating, bringing together delivery partner teams; actively managing dependencies between these teams and other projects and projects.
- Works with Regional Transformation teams to source project support as required.
- Ensures project and project teams follow the bank’s Change Framework.
- Promotes pace and energy within the team and leads by example.
- Excellent understanding of transformation, Waterfall and/ or Agile methodologies and best practice.
- Strong understanding of Value Stream structured transformation.
- Strong knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
- Experience or understanding of financial services / banking and subsequently of how change drives benefits to its customers
- Preferred to have understanding of HSBC Group structures, processes and objectives would be advantageous.
- 5 years or more of proven experience leading / managing a PMO function across a complex portfolio is desirable
- Successful track record support high-investment, time sensitive and complex regulatory projects to completion and in line with Group standards.
- Proven ability to work across an organization whilst maintaining a global perspective.
- Demonstration of commerciality with strong financial acumen.
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors.
- Evidence of ability to make key strategic decisions.
- People and team management experience.
- Proven implementation, change management and benefit realization experience.
- Outstanding leadership skill as candidate will deal with C-Suite leaders
- Outstanding relationship management and influencing skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills in order to cope with multiple large-scale responsibilities.
- High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex transformational initiatives.
- Ability to leverage resources available to achieve goals.
- Prince2 or PMP certification - Desirable
- Agile certifications – Desirable
- Agile methodologies or waterfall trainings acquired – Desirable
