Job Description
- Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of Postgre SQL databases to ensure smooth functioning.
- Implementation and Maintenance: Implement and maintain Postgre SQL databases according to organizational requirements.
- Performance Tuning: Enhance database performance through tuning and optimization.
- Security Management: Maintain the security protocols for Postgre SQL databases to safeguard data integrity.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implement solutions for high availability and plan for disaster recovery.
- Backup and Recovery: Ensure reliable backup and restoration processes for the Postgre SQL databases.
- Collaboration: Work with other teams to ensure the availability and reliability of the database environment.
- Patching and Updates: Regularly apply patches and updates to Postgre SQL databases.
Personal Skills
- Strong ability to work in a team environment and support other teams.
- Able to analyze and resolve performance and availability issues within databases.
- Careful handling of backup, security, and recovery tasks to avoid errors.
Technical Skills
- Postgre SQL Database Management: Proficiency in managing Postgre SQL databases, including performance tuning and optimization.
- Oracle Database Management: Ability to manage Oracle databases alongside Postgre SQL.
- Windows Server Knowledge: Familiarity with Windows server systems to support database environments.
- Security Management: Knowledge of security practices for database systems.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Good understanding of the underlying infrastructure supporting database systems.
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions for critical databases.
