Doctoral Researcher, project Signal Recovery in Noisy Spatial Data

The person chosen for the position is expected to have a Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, machine learning, or another relevant field, or they must be able to finish the degree/education before the start of the doctoral researcher position. Alternative applicable degrees or educations are mentioned in the rules of eligibility.
The candidate must be fluent in English, both oral and written. Candidates who are familiar with spatial data or multivariate methods are especially encouraged to apply but it is not a prerequisite. Good programming skills are also considered a plus.
Candidates who do not currently hold the right to pursue a doctoral degree at the University of Helsinki are eligible to apply, but in the event of hiring, they are expected to acquire the study right during the 6-month trial period in the beginning of the employment. The starting salary of a Ph D student is typically 2500 - 2700 euros/month, depending on previous qualifications and experience.
