About the role

Being part of an exceptional team is not only important for your personal mindfulness but key for your professional progression.We're now looking for a technically hands-on Engineering Team Lead for our Financial integrations team. The team consist of backend and frontend engineers. In this role, you will be building the industry-leading finances features of our Provet Cloud veterinary practice management product. On the leadership side, you will be technically leading and mentoring your team members, as well as being part of a Python/Django -focused development team yourself. You and your development team will be working with a Product Manager, Designer, and QA Specialists on a specific product area to ensure our team's developments are well planned and of high quality.
The Engineering Team Lead's role is to provide leadership, direction, and support to a team of engineers to ensure the successful completion of projects and the achievement of organizational goals. The Engineering Team Lead will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, including planning, organizing, and delegating tasks, as well as monitoring progress and ensuring quality standards are met.
Last but not least, the Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
Your key responsibilities include:

Leadership. Providing direction and leadership to the engineering team by setting clear goals, expectations, and priorities.

Project Management. Developing project plans, schedules, and ensuring that the engineering team meets deadlines.

Technical Expertise. Providing technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.

Technical Oversight. Ensuring best practices in API development, coding, and testing. Review technical designs and maintain system security and reliability.

Financial System Integration. Overseeing the integration of financial systems (e.g., ERP, accounting software, payment gateways) with the Saa S platform. Develop scalable, robust financial integration solutions that align with customer needs and business goals. Audit requirements when integrating third-party financial platforms.

Team Management. Managing the performance and development of the engineering team by setting performance goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.

Communication. Communicating effectively with stakeholders, clients, and team members to ensure that everyone is informed and up-to-date on project progress and status.

Problem-Solving. Identifying and resolving technical and non-technical issues that arise during project execution, and making adjustments to project plans as needed.

Quality Control. Ensuring that engineering projects meet quality standards and that deliverables are completed to a high level of quality.

Innovation. Encouraging and fostering a culture of innovation within the engineering team to drive new ideas, processes, and technologies.

Ideally, you have already gained experience from working in a fast growing, global Saa S company. In addition, our humble wishlist would be that you:-
Have a proven track record of a similar role, ideally, in the area of finance.

Can improve team time spent on new development, decreasing the time needed for bug fixing and maintenance

Can improve/reduce number of bugs per deployment/change

Can keep high unit tests coverage

Can improve the efficiency and productivity of the team

Are familiar and comfortable with the requirements of working in a remote environment and leading a remote team.

Are fluent in English and can effectively communicate and lead an international team.

Knowledge and experience in finance area will be a plus.
