We are now seeking a Metallurgist/Senior Metallurgist for the Minerals Processing development group at Metso Research Center Pori.
Primary responsibilities and functions are process technology development, customer test work, R&D, and innovation projects in Minerals Processing.
As a Metallurgist, you will
Conduct beneficiation test work with laboratory technicians and conduct required data handling and reporting.
Work closely with metallurgists, the Minerals Processing laboratory team, and others within the wider Metso organization.
Developing and optimizing flowsheets for client projects from around the globe.
Produce instructions and procedures for laboratory test work and pilot runs.
Be familiar with laboratory equipment in a Minerals Processing Laboratory, from sample preparation to various concentration methods.
Use process simulation software tools, including mass balance calculations and HSC simulation.
Pilot, site, and commissioning work, as required.
Manage projects to ensure budgets and schedules are kept.
To succeed, you will need
Master's degree in Minerals Processing or similar
Strong skills in beneficiation technologies
Earlier experience in R&D work, including experimental laboratory test work, is appreciated
Fluency in English, both written and oral
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Good problem-solving skills and a positive “can do” attitude are vital assets in this position, working with Metso’s highly skilled experts and international customers from all continents and cultures
Good ability to write technical and scientific documentation in English
