R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services , Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.

KONE services maintains millions of elevators, escalators, building doors and turnstiles equipment in over 60 countries. Maintenance operations has tens of thousands visits per day facing customers and ensuring fluent products’ operations.

We are now looking for a

R&D Expert, Maintenance

to have full view and experience to lead maintenance development for new KONE products and service. You’d preferably work in Hyvinkää, Finland. However, you may also work in our Espoo-office if that’s more convenient for you, with regular visits to Hyvinkää. We offer flexible working time, remote/hybrid working opportunities and we also support commuting to work.

In expert level you will lead maintenance development measured by field performance and productivity. You have skills to influence in product and technology concept design phase for life cycle management in maintenance and repairs. Remote maintenance technologies and concepts are familiar, and you are able to analyze field data and make proposal based on life cycle business case.

KONE is providing maintenance for both KONE manufactured equipment, as well as equipment manufactured by others. Work will require knowledge/interest to growth for digitalization, maintenance strategy and work optimization from the traditional maintenance.

Work will contain technical design for methods, maintenance time and repairs with safety risk assessments. You need to have an understanding from managing master data and product material hierarchies to be able to build automation for field technicians work optimization. You will collaborate with other teams within KONE global R&D, business organizations and KONE country units. Project and product life cycle management experience is benefit for task executions and getting work organized in agile way to continuously deliver meaningful impacts to customers and KONE Maintenance business.

In order to be successful on this role, the preferred candidate will have

-MSc/BSc level degree or other relevant experience from the field operations and maintenance development
-Experience of development, communication, and end user care to deploy new capabilities and monitor expected impact to maintenance operations. Experience of reliability driven maintenance and concepts is considered a plus
-Work experience in product life cycle management and design for maintainability principles and preventive maintenance program development and Data-driven maintenance concepts
-Elevator and escalator knowledge is benefit, but experience from other product areas is highly valued as well
-Knowledge and experience from reliability engineering (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability concepts, tools and methods)
-Knowledge about product creation processes (waterfall and agile)
-Hands on and service mindset combined with good communication skills in English and capability present ideas to senior leaders
-Self driven and making impactful results
