Backend Engineer / SF / Python / React

An innovative cybersecurity startup company in San Francisco is addressing one of the industry's most critical security issues. Human mistakes are the leading cause of security breaches, and many employees lack the proper tools to stay protected. This company aims to revolutionize that! Their goal is to prevent cyber-attacks by utilizing AI, including Gen AI and behavioral systems, to identify employees at risk and deliver personalized, timely security briefings. These briefings empower employees to make better security decisions wherever they are.

As a Backend Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and scaling crucial backend systems, including APIs, customer integration layers, data services, video generation tools, and customer-facing portals. You will be tasked with creating foundational systems while delivering full end-to-end products. This is a role that offers the chance to make a lasting impact by developing scalable, secure, and easy-to-maintain backend services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the backend architecture supporting APIs, customer integrations, and data pipelines
  • Design and build complete systems and products to meet the company’s evolving requirements
  • Convert product specifications into reliable and scalable solutions designed for future needs
  • Create services that are secure, maintainable, and capable of scaling with growth.
Key Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience developing backend systems for web applications or APIs using Python
  • Experience working with Java Script and React
  • Strong Experience working with Django
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS
  • Experience working with external APIs
  • Experience working with scalable systems
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within a startup environment highly preferred
  • Experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and distributed systems
