About The Opportunity
Responsible for coordinating & creating samples/protos according to Design team specifications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Review and prepare prints for sample/proto assembly.
2. Cut, Assemble, and ship sample/proto to customer as needed.
3. Develop a working knowledge of, and utilize design/CAD software, including shippers, SAP/CES/Mom etc.
4. Set personal goals to improve knowledge of total operations of the design department.
5. Organize and maintain customer sample products.
6. Provide feedback on possible design improvements or corrections for samples and prototypes.
7. Schedule relevant samples, placing promise dates based on priority and workload.
8. Work with production scheduling to get prototype orders dated and materials ordered.
9. Review workload and capacity and delegate projects if needed other sample shops.
10. Works with sales and designers to expedite DFM/special projects.
11. Works with scheduling/tooling coordinator to pull in small run jobs.
12. DFM reviews, participates in site specific 5S program, and attends Gemba walks as needed.
13. Initiates continuous improvement ideas.
14. Organize and maintain shop along with cleanliness.
15. Organize and perform routine maintenance on all sample shop machines as needed.
16. Order all material and hardware as needed.
17. Receive and ship samples/materials.
18. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification

Work Experience
- 2 – 3 years Sample Maker experience, within ORBIS

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
2. SAP/Momentum experience

4. LEAF graduate and understanding of DISC to successfully engage others.
5. Availability outside of normal business hours.
6. Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others.
7. High level of work ethic that is easily able to lead by example.
8. Understanding of site specific MFG capabilities
