Aim Higher Adult Disability Services is seeking a Transportation Driver to serve in a support capacity to all Program Managers, Program Instructors, Program Assistants and Program Aides through overseeing the vehicle maintenance and tracking.
The Transportation Driver serves to provide safe transport of consumers and staff at all times through ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained and inspected daily as well through implementing exemplary driving practices at all times.

This is a full-time position (Mon-Fri). Our benefits for full-time employees include health, vision and dental along with competitive pay starting at $19.50 per hour DOE.
Summary of Job Duties:

• Ensure AIM HIGHER vehicles are maintained to the highest safety standards possible at all times
• by performing a full and complete pre-trip inspection daily of each vehicle being used daily and ensuring paperwork is filed accordingly
• by immediately communicating to management anytime a pre-trip inspection results in finding a deficiency in the vehicle’s operability
• by immediately communicating to management anytime deficiencies in the vehicle’s operability are found/felt/discovered while the vehicle is in use
• by ensuring all vehicles receive standard maintenance services based on the program schedule
• by keeping the vehicles clean on the inside and outside at all times
• Ensure AIM HIGHER vehicles are driven and operated to the highest safety standards at all times
• by following all protocol established in the AIM HIGHER Driver Training manual
• by always implementing a “defensive driving” strategy
• by ensuring all consumers and staff members are properly positioned and securely seated at all times
• by ensuring safe entering/exiting systems are utilized every time a consumer enters/exits the vehicle
• by ensuring the use of a wheelchair lift is done properly every time and that only trained staff aid in the process of helping a consumer on/off the vehicle via the lift
• by ensuring the positioning and securement of consumers in wheelchairs (requiring tie down systems) is performed to the highest standard each time
• by ensuring consumers and staff are positioned/seated and secured in their seats/wheelchairs that will provide for maximum support to all consumers as well as to prevent potential safety issues from arising while in transport
• Ensure all AIM HIGHER vehicles are well maintained, serviced, registered, and insured as needed
• by maintaining a copies and schedules of maintenance and servicing in the Facility Binder
• by maintaining a current copy of registration and insurance in the vehicle(s) at all times and also ensuring a copy is located in the facility binder
• Maintain Vehicle Usage data – locations, consumer numbers, mileage, and gas usage
• by accurately filling out travel logs before/after every use of a vehicle

Job Requirements:

• Must be a minimum of 25 years old at the time of hire
• Possession of a current certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Possession of a current certificate in Standard First Aide (SFA).
• Proof of clearance through the Department of Justice and the FBI via Live Scan
• Proof of passing a pre-placement physical and back assessment.
• Proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
